Opening the Book
God leads us in different ways and when Buddy challenged me and my family to truly be sensitive to the Lord’s leading in the use of “His finances” we began to pray and ask God to show us how He wanted to use us. God spoke to me, my wife and our two boys about a family from North Carolina that is living on a salary that is below poverty level. The result of God’s leading in our lives led us to give the money that God had given to us through the church, but it did not end there. My 14 year old son also felt led of the Lord to add $100.00 of the money God has blessed him with through a Saturday job he has. Then the Lord spoke to my heart to cash the honorarium check I received from a church I preached at on December 3 and to add that money to the gift as well. The result of our obedience turned into a major time of blessing and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. He definitely deserves all of the praise and glory. I am so thankful to Him for allowing us to be used by Him to be a blessing.
The letter below is from the family who received this gift.
Your servant and HIS,
Roger
Roger,
This morning my quiet time was from Psalm 92. It starts by saying…
"It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High: To declare Your loving kindness in the morning..."
I am humbled to the heart with unbelievable gratitude for how you have ministered to me and my family in these past few days. And then to have you share God's blessing through an amazing monetary gift, we are truly touched and left speechless. I must admit we were a few hours into our trip home when Allison opened the book and found this wonderful blessing. We drove the remaining 3 hours praising the Lord with some very loud Praise and Worship music thanking the Lord and praying for, and praising Him for you.
Our family verse has always been Mt. 6:33 & once again today God has reminded us that He will meet our needs as long as we continue to seek first the Kingdom of God & His righteousness.
I just want to say THANK YOU BROTHER! For your love & compassion that you have shown to me and my family.
The above passage from my quiet time ends verse 2 with the following words...
"To declare Your loving kindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night."
This day began with the declaration of God’s loving-kindness and this evening as we get ready to call it a night. We proclaim God's faithfulness, and say Thank you for being a hand of Christ to us!
In Christ,

Well, an opportunity came up. I had asked the Lord for opportunities this week to give away the $5.00 (from high school) and the $10.00. I was in the parking lot talking with two of my brothers and one sister-in-law after having eaten dinner. A guy walked right up claiming that his transmission wasn’t working and he needed a $1.75 for bus fare. I decided to give him the $5.00. I did explain to him that “this was God’s money”. He could use it for the transmission or whatever, but it was God’s money and a “blessing to you”. He thanked me and I told him Merry Christmas.
Now, I don’t know if he was on the level, but I did believe that it was one of the opportunities I expected for this week. It was a chance to SOW with a stranger, but it also was an example for my brothers and sister-in-law as I shared the stories of Amy and Shannon with them. This may have even been further witnessing for my younger brother. I look forward to telling you about the opportunity for the $10.00.

Children of Nicaragua
First of all, thank you so much for stepping out and doing something out of the ordinary under the direction of the Holy Spirit. May God bless you in amazing ways for your obedience! Thank you for the book! I’m working my way slowly through it.
Here is my story about God’s Money: As I prayed about where to send this money, God laid on my heart a ministry in Nicaragua. Two orphanages and many feeding programs run by one overworked, overwhelmed sister of mine. Initially I did not want my gift to go to a ministry I already knew about, but God was so clear about the direction He wanted me to go with this that I could do nothing else. I have added more money to the gift and sent it to my sister Sandy Carter to be used in the feeding programs or wherever the need is greatest in reaching the children of Nicaragua.
Thank you,
Shelly
Bouncing Checks
I have attended Grace for 3 weeks traveling from Athens with friends in search of "meat" from the pulpit. Imagine my surprise when instead of a tithing envelope, I received "God's money". This is my story...
I am a builder and have been feeling the effects of a stalled economy and overbuilt market in the Athens area for a couple of years now. Several months ago I asked a lady, who had been renting a house from me, if she would move and allow me to sell the house to survive this storm. Shortly after her move, her last rental check of $875 was returned to me marked N.S.F.! To top this off, someone helping her move had hit the garage door, leaving $700 worth of damage which had to be repaired immediately. The timing of this could not have been worse! I talked to the woman, and she assured me that she would make it all good if I just gave her some time. The saying "you can't get blood from a turnip" applies here!
This lady has a good heart and in the past had helped me out several times with my mother-in-law during her relocation to Athens. I had given her a study Bible as a thank you gift so that both of them could attend a Bible study with me. Lately, shed had not attended a church but had been assuring me that she was coming back.
So, here I am this week at the gas station and I see her. She starts crying and telling me of her nephew, 36, who needs a liver transplant and the financial position that her sister is in waiting with her son. She also assures me that she has not forgotten about the check and that she will work it all out. As I am standing there, it seemed as if I was hearing "give her the $10". I was like, "God are you kidding me,
she OWES ME $875 PLUS the damaged garage door. Why give her more?"
A few minutes later, I tell her that I am sorry about her nephew and drive away.
As the day progressed, I wrote her a card expressing how special she is to so many, encouraging her to believe in Him and His love for her through all of this. And finally, to know that I would always be here for her. I enclosed the $10 and explained the story behind it, asking her to give it to her sister. I also enclosed the $875 check, releasing all legal hold on her future, claiming the verses of Ezekiel 36:25-26.
That is my story and I thank you for the opportunity to participate in His glory,
Karen
A Special Education
I have kept my God’s money in my purse as a reminder that God is always with me and that He will provide. Instead, I’ve begun to use my own money to give. I have given in various ways since that Sunday. Most recently I sent $20.00 to a friend who had been down and depressed. She is a foster mother, adoptive mother and special education teacher. I just wrote a note telling her that I loved her and that God loved her and to do something special with the money and explained how my God’s Money in my purse was my blessing. She called last week in tears and told me how encouraged she was by my note and money gift and that she was in turn trying to be appreciative and more faithful and this week someone left her $200.00 and gifts for her children. She really felt blessed. It’s funny... As I was praying, I thought “Gosh, I don’t hear anything.” But apparently I did hear something. It just wasn’t how I had imagined it.
Thank you,
Kim
Money, Time, Love
"God's money" went to a young lady at work who is putting herself through college all on her own. Her parents have no interest in her life, and she was raised by her grandmother, who died a month before Thanksgiving. She's had a real tough time dealing with the loss of the one person she knew she could always count on to love her. What an opportunity to show her the love of Christ it has been. She couldn't afford to spend money for a nice dress to go to the company Christmas party, so we all chipped in to help her. God has enabled me to comfort her in her struggles and point her to Him.
"God's time" went to another co-worker this Friday, when he called my home at 1AM telling me he was tired of life and ready to end it all. I got dressed, went to his heat-less one room apartment on a 20 degree night, prayed with him and tried to show him the love of Christ as he sobered up after falling off the wagon. He'd been dry for two years, but loneliness and recent bad news from his Doctor had left him depressed and in need of the God he'd rejected in his teenage years. It was an honor to guide this lost, hurting soul, back home again.
"God's love" was shared with two lost and hurting lambs in need of attention, that only He could give them. What a privilege! What a journey! What a Savior!
His,
Russ
