Tending the Garden
A 17 year-old-young man and his girlfriend approached me two Sunday evenings ago for information on baptism. What started as an inquiry has evolved into a deep spiritual discipleship journey. The young man was just recently saved and is hungry for the Lord. So here I am thanking the Lord for this early first fruit. The challenge is not so much sowing; but the greater work of tending to the garden—discipling those whose lives the Word of God is taking root in. Please praise the Lord with this spiritual increase and that laborers be provided for the vineyard.
Yours in the service of our Lord and Savior,
Glen
Many New Doors
Grace, God’s amazing grace! I rediscovered it at Grace Fellowship about 5 years ago. Coming out of a severely dysfunctional childhood, my only real goal in life was to have a godly marriage and family. After 24 years of marriage to my high school sweetheart things began to unravel. All my hopes and dreams, along with my excitement in serving the Lord, fell under the next 4 years of separation and total discouragement and finally a divorce. It was only through God’s providence that I happened to visit Grace because I was not looking for another church. Once I saw what was going on, I knew this was where God was leading me. I had been through Experiencing God, and it was obvious that He was at work at Grace. He began to renew my excitement and love for serving and opened many new doors over these years at Grace. I began a healing process, first through Buddy’s teaching and leadership and the engaging worship times, and then through a men’s small group, the Singles Again ministry and Divorce Care. God opened a new door of service in bus driving at Grace that has led to countless opportunities to serve the church and Christian community. I had always been a missions giver, but through Grace I have become a missionary working alongside inner city ministries with the Grace youth teams and working with the Quichua Indians of Ecuador. Through those experiences, God has expanded my desire to serve and support and pray for several missionaries and missionary families around the world. It is now my privilege to join our Staff and Elders to take this next journey of God’s amazing grace with Grace Fellowship!!!
